Hi DMM!
So, I work at www.techsoup.org now and we're doing this project called NetSquared. The site for the project is here: www.netsquared.org. It's a pretty cool project, based on Web 2.0 application in the non-profit sector.
I'm writing to:
1) Invite you to the first Net Tuesday event that's happening next week.
2) Invite you to collaborate with us. VJs, Electronic Musicians, etc. - please let me know if you're interested in participating in upcoming events and I will plug you in with the right people.
This is a great opportunity for networking and community building. I also think the WhiteBox Project could lend itself as a good model for documentation on this project.
Anyway, info below on the event next week.
I hope this finds you all well in the land of the beeps.

*NET TUESDAYS Launch on 11/8 in SF: Share, Collaborate, Create Social Change*
Are you a nonprofit worker who’s interested in using emerging technologies to share and collaborate with others and transform the way you work? Are you a tech expert who loves new web toys and who’s interested in finding ways to use your skills and interests for social change?
Learn about the extraordinary work being done and the creative uses of nonprofits that are adopting networking technologies.
Chris Messina of Flock ("the swiss army knife of browsers", www.flock.com/), and Marnie Webb, nonprofit tech master will present. Nonprofit workers, tech-heads and assorted stragglers interested in remixing the web for social change will carry the conversations.
Where: Varnish Art Gallery, 77 Natoma St, San Francisco
When: Tuesday, November 8th, 2005, 6-8pm
Price: Admission, music, art, great conversation and cookies are all FREE. You have to pay for your own drinks.
Let us know you're coming at upcoming.org/event/38541
or www.zvents.com/events/show/80115
If you have any questions about how it all works, these meetups are where you can learn and get answers through training sessions, demos, Q&A, and connects.
Net Tuesdays will be held on the second Tuesday of every month. As these meetups evolve through a cadre of volunteers there will be more and more examples of how our sector is adopting and integrating the next generation of internet tools. These gatherings will be most successful if they meet your needs. Please come and let us know what you need.
Come talk to nonprofit workers about technology, talk to tech junkies about nonprofits, find out about new web tools, or more. Check our page at www.netsquared.org/blog/chr...-tuesdays If you have any questions, please email net2@techsoup.org
